Indoor cat finally found 3 weeks after pawrent’s moved when new homeowners renovated the kitchen, but cat’s condition leaves vets confused after having not eaten for weeks: ‘She is in the new apartment and has been exploring the new place.’

Moving home is no easy feat at the best of times. But to do it with your cat child in tow is a feat of bravery, courage and strength unlike any other. However, if your purrecious fur baby happens to go missing during that move, do you think you would be able to keep your cool and keep moving like this story's pawrent?

Now, we will say, there was no kitty to be found. Serious search efforts to reunite the cat and her pawrent was made but to no avail. All the usual means of social media and friend groups were employed but all came up empty handed. For weeks this poor pawrent had to live with the thought that their house move had caused their cat child to leave them. A horrible feeling that you would not wish upon your worst enemy. And one that this pawrent lived with for weeks, three long weeks. That is, until one fateful day, the phone rang.

On the other end of the line was someone who had found their cat. It turns out that through all the clutter and chaos of packing up and moving their home the scared feline had tucked herself into a crevise so small and so concealed that it took actually kitchen renovations to uncover her hiding spot. For all these many weeks this poor cat child had hidden from the noises and strange people, thinking that her world has been torn down around her. Wondering what fate might await her.

  • Holy moly, we simply do not have enough time and word space to unpack all of that madness at once, but let’s give it a go. As if moving house is not stressful enough as it is, but to have to do the whole thing without knowing where your precious pride and joy is must be terrible.   • Well, that has got to be some sort of record. Most cats act like they are going to starve if they are not fed a few minutes after their designated eating hour. But to go for three weeks with nothing is unreal. Thank goodness this poor catto was on the chonky side and had some reserves to keep her going. But most of all we cannot stop thinking about how scary this whole ordeal must have been for the poor cat. To hear and smell her family move away, to hear the new people come in and start making an awful racket renovating the place.
